E-Certificate for International Trademark Designated is Issued in Thailand國際商標指定泰國核發電子證書

On 6 August 2025, the Trademark Office in Thailand (TMO) published a notice[1] that starting from 15 August 2025, the TMO would update the process for issuing trademark certificate for international trademark registrations (IR) designating Thailand. The changes affects how trademark owners receive proof of trademark registration.
泰國商標局(TMO)於2025年8月6日發布公告，宣佈自2025年8月15日起，將更新國際商標註冊(IR)指定泰國的商標證書發放流程。這些變更將影響商標所有人收到商標註冊證明的方式。
This new electronic format replaces the previous certificate format under the 2024 announcement (B.E. 2567) and is issued in accordance with the Ministerial Regulations under the Trademark Act B.E. 2534 Section 33. In other words, for every trademark application filed through WIPO and designating Thailand, the electronic certificate is served as the official record and a QR code is included at the bottom of the certificate for verification purpose. The purpose of development of using electronic registration system is to increase efficiency and facilitate services for the private business sector and the general public.
這種新的電子格式取代根據2024年(佛曆2567年)公告所規定的先前證書格式，並依據佛曆2534年《商標法》第33條的部長命令發佈。換句話說，對於通過世界知識產權組織提交並指定泰國的每一件商標申請，電子證書將作為官方記錄，且證書底部會附有一個用於驗證的QR碼。採用電子註冊系統的發展目的是提高效率，並為私營企業和一般公眾提供更便捷的服務。

1. Legal Effect of the Certificate
證書的法律效力
Ø The Trademark Registration Certificates under the Madrid Protocol will feature a QR Code for accessing electronic data
根據《馬德里議定書》核發的商標註冊證書將包含一個QR碼，用於存取電子資料。
Ø The certificate and its electronic data are considered the official certificate issued by the TMO to protect the trademark under Section 43 of the Trademark Act and its amendments.
該證書及其電子資料將視為由TMO核發的官方證書，依照《商標法》第43條及其修正案來保護商標。
2. Certificate Issuance

Ø Trademark owners will receive the Trademark Registration Certificates under the Madrid Protocol.

Ø The electronic data (PDF file) can be accessed by scanning the QR Code on the certificate through the TMO website, allowing the download of the electronic Trademark Registration Certificate.

3. Digital Signature
數位簽章
Ø The Trademark Registration Certificates under the Madrid Protocol will include a Digital Signature, utilizing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to encrypt the electronic data.
根據《馬德里議定書》核發的商標註冊證書將包含數位簽章，使用公共金鑰基礎設施(PKI)來加密電子資料。
Ø This allows for verification against unauthorized alteration of the text or the electronic signature.
此舉可用於驗證文件內容是否未經授權的修改，或電子簽章是否被篡改。
Ø The use of this electronic signature complies with Section 26 and Section 28 of the Electronic Transactions Act B.E. 2544 (2001) and its amendments.
使用此電子簽章符合佛曆2544年(2001)《電子交易法》第26條及第28條及其修正案。
Ø Therefore, the Digital Signature has the same legal effect as a signature on a paper document.

Ø QR Code: The QR Code located in the bottom right corner of the certificate can be scanned to access the electronic data from the TMO system.
